Prison had taken this mother away from her child, but the emotional pain she carried reached far beyond the prison walls. She struggled with guilt, sadness, and the fear that her child would grow up without her presence.
Through psychosocial support provided by Lespwar Trust, she was given a safe space to express her feelings, confront her fears, and begin working through her emotional pain. Little by little, she began to recognise that although she could not change her past, she could still make choices that shaped her future.
Her journey reminds us that rehabilitation is not only about serving a sentence; it is also about healing, rediscovering one's worth, and finding the courage to begin again.
Sometimes, hope begins when someone finally feels heard.
